MIRACLES
From sun and warmth
To Spring and snow.
But a grandson’s recital is reason enough
To face the highway - although rough
Because of the semis – they’re tough
to deal with on any road,
let alone with a heavy load
past construction areas.
JB HUNT, Fed Ex and Wal Mart,
NORTH AMERICAN, CFI and ROADWAY—
8o miles per hour – no sweat.
Can’t go 65 or even 75, have to push it!!!!
RINGG-------“Hi, Mom, where are you?”
Judy’s on the cell
phone. “We”re north of
Driving 80 miles an hour, trying to stay alive!”
“Oh, my Gosh, Mom, be careful, I’ll hang up quick.”- and then
her most assertive CLICK.
Courtyard Marriott,
Take a rest, eat dinner, and read – that’s what old folks seem to need.
Not what we used to do – 700 miles a day – NO WAY, TODAY!!
The landscape changes in
Looks the way it used
to be – in
Dogwood, and rosebud, and probably the bees
Are starting their rounds.
Oh, it’s nostalgic when you’ve been in the South with just one season.
Now you know part of the reason
Why we come North.
After so much driving
We’re happy to be arriving at Barb’s.
Though it’s rainy and cool
We know it’s the rule
For the
We’ll be nomads for six months at least,
Back and forth from the west to the east.
Pack and unpack and wonder where
We’ve left some of our clothes and our underwear.
To Oberlin for Evan’s recital—
To
Spend time with Jeff who’ll be home late in May
After almost a year away - finishing his degree.
We’ll see Lauren and Brian and Brittany, too—
Can you imagine what a COUP
That is???
To catch all six grandchildren in one six-month trip---
There’s nothing to call it but a marvelous gift!
Are there miracles in this world?
Of course there are!!!
Just keep on believing – they’re not very far
From YOU.
